Aidan wants old men, Aidan wants to get messy

Location: Islesburgh, Room 9!

Present: Chris, Lorcan, Roseanne, Mathew, Keith, Amy, Katya, Ceidiog, Joe, Freya, Heather

The meeting began with the age old favourite: the name and fact game! Most of the facts were uninteresting. Please try harder next time.

First on the agenda was Aidan's desperate need for old men. There were no new developments, just mild disgust. Then she wanted to get messy. The group was unenthused.

We then discussed the films for this years film festival!

Aviation was first on the list. Filming for this will begin on Sunday and Lorcan, Chris, Joe and Heather are arriving at Roseanne’s to salvage vital components for a flying machine. Not a time machine as Roseanne may have implied at the meeting. From now on assume everything Roseanne says is the opposite of what she actually said.

Toast is filmed and ready to be edited. However technical difficulties have arisen regarding blocked information paths from the recording devices to the recently updated editing software at Shetland Arts. In other words: The firewires ain’t workin', dudes.

Battle of the Juices has been banished to purgatory until the issue above is resolved.

Frozen has been scripted but a few issues regarding the plot need to be addressed i.e. mouldy food in a timeless place. The film is going to be primarily filmed in Lerwick, at the Knab golf course. The allocated date for filming at the moment is the 17th of July. A full location schedule would be dandy, Matthew! :)

Amy’s Horror film has been scripted. At the moment we would suggest a brief, more compressed rewrite of the script to ensure that it is only six minutes in length, a note for everyone to keep in mind: in the words of our dear Mark Kermode, All films could do with losing a third of their length.

Prom has yet to be physically scripted but the plot is all in Joe’s head. Roseanne is going to play the lead role, a character who is sad and contemplative, quite a challenging role for her considering she has never had a “serious” role before. Sandwick School is the proposed location and a prom dress needs to be found. Exciting times!

Autumn Leaves has yet to be scripted, but the location of the Bonhoga Gallery has been confirmed! Roseanne and Chris are still of the opinion that it could be set in a field with people holding up the pictures, and whenever the word conceptual is said the people appear briefly from behind the frames and whisper the word conceptual. Whatever.

The Man Who Is Always On Fire needs to be scripted, but the idea itself has been formed pretty excellently and Chris is well on the way to figuring out how to make someone look like they are constantly on fire using the magical world of Adobe After Effects.

Everyone Dies is Lorcan’s film of pure comedy gold, that has yet to be scripted but is pretty much thought through. The special-effects are the main issue here. A location that has a giant walk in freezer has yet to be confirmed, but the Muckle CafĂ© in the Clickimin should let us film there if they are nice people.

Lost ... in the Post! is a trailer film that Lorcan better make, because it is HILARIOUS. More planning needs to be done, and it will be. Or else.

Other films that should get made but the people were not present to speak about them: Cake Film, Lipstick, Harry’s Concept Arty Fashiony Thingy.

Keep on truckin’

-Roseanne and Chris.
