The Last Planning Meeting - 28th Feb 2011

Present: Joe, Katya, Kate.

Well, for the first half an hour we fruitlessly searched for a “Google To Do List” app on Joe’s iphone…Productiveness at its finest!

Don’t worry fellow Maddrimmers, we did actually do something relevant.

Jacqui met with Joe and Ceidiog and told us some changes have to be made to our ideas:
1)      Jacqui realised that our Aert idea fitted the Midder theme much better – so we’ve swapped. This means that we can definitely use Freya’s layering idea that Jacqui was very impressed with because we don’t have to film exclusively from the ground.
2)      We are going to save using helicopters for a future film idea. Instead, filming from the lighthouses lights’ P.O.Vs is an idea and Joe suggested using this as a transition shot between the lighthouses as a link from one story to another.
3)      Much to our (and especially my) great dismay we cannot have The Last Viking story in our film because Vikings are too stereotypical of Shetland. But we’ve decided to film it anyway…await Screenplay 2011.
4)      So Muckle Flugga is no longer a location and is replaced by Eshaness. And the story is...ummm...

So we need a new idea for Eshaness.

Brainstorming!
We thought about filming a group of people coming out of a “tardis” van (i.e. there would be more people than what would be possible to fit inside), but as this is difficult to incorporate into the story saving this for the crazed Shetlanders in the Last Viking idea might be better.

The background story will be that these people are lost and start by making an S.O.S shape and then they somehow get carried away in the moment. Then we will be filming from above like the TalkTalk 2006 advert:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcQIwbvGRKU

Email back if you have any bright ideas that are not hideously complex, suggestions, questions or comments because we've technically stopped brainstorming. Storyboarding is well underway, but suggestions are welcome :)

Ciao
